"Christian Dior never produced a collection without having a tarot reading first".
I love this fact! I've recently had mine done, and I think it was the next day i was flicking through Vogue and saw Hayley Maitlands article, about how tarot cards relationships
with the arts has always been significant and the reinterpretation we're seeing this season on the runway from 2 of the biggest fashion houses, Dior & Gucci.
Trends carried over for this season that I noticed are distressed step hem jeans, as seen in the first half of the show. There was a heavy contrast on the runway, the first looks were very tailored, the first looks were all white, sending visions of innocence and purity and structure as a start to the show. Then changed to slightly more feminine, the angelic white continues with lighter fabrics such as netting and lace. The collection was mainly monochrome, with accent colour red popping up a lot, which is linked to a lot of tarots (the devil, the high priestess, queen of pentacles).
For Chiuris First collection at Dior she nodded towards Christian Diors spiritual beliefs, whilst sparking a trend for this season and reminding us of the relationship between art, fashion, creativeness, which ultimately is expression.
I hope you enjoyed these images as much as me I'm inspired by this collection, feel free to comment below, follow me on Bloglovin, Instagram, bla blaa!
