This has to be my favourite collection by Moschino so I thought I would dedicate a blog to it and share my obsession- oh and its on sale! (link at the end of this post)
THE SHOW
The invitation was a giant plastic hair comb with 'moschino' in scripted in a Barbie like swirly font. On the runway there was beach Barbie, gym Barbie, business Barbie, cowgirl Barbie, you name it Barbie...
even one of the gorgeous models came out on roller skates, in matching 'moschino' monogrammed jersey shorts and a sports bra, also including accessories such as sweat bands in scripted with a Barbie pink 'moschino'.
The makeup for the show was done by M.A.C. make up artist Lucia Pieroni she created a waxy plastic looking skin base and did two sets of eyelashes to create the perfect prim and polished 'Barbie girl' look. To top it off every guest on the front row had a Moschino Barbie doll placed on their seat dressed in the shows first look, a pink mini leather biker jacket and a zip front pencil skirt.
This Collection excites me so much!! Its the first collection that I've been fascinated by for a while, I'm not even a 'girly girl'. Jeremy Scott is such an incredible designer to capture all imaginations and his long list of celebrity fans. After his fast food collection (relating to fast fashion) I was obsessed.
I'm in awe of how he could turn the iconic and recognisable McDonalds theme into such a chic collection!

Jeremy Scott started his career as an intern for Moschino, he's previously stated its 'like a fairy-tale come true' to be the director of Moschino now. I love that and it makes me remember everyone started somewhere! He's the kind of designer who's clothes makes you smile when your seeing his collections because it just brings the fun back into fashion and expressionism, he incorporates pop culture into a lot of his designs (McDonald's, SpongeBob, Barbie) which I think a lot of people relate to and get his tongue-in cheek humour. Jeremy is a perfect match for the Moschino fashion house as I would say its one of the few that shares his similar humour.
I absolutely love the fact he has been influenced by all pink poster girls its so fun to see the dolls you were obsessed with and played with come to life, literally. There was even a 'business dressed' Barbie which was probably inspired by Elle Woods!
I love the plastic accessories in the collection, the Mirror Mirror case is amazing perhaps a little impractical for putting in your pocket ha... but still obviously a necessity. Jeremy has also designed a pink Barbie hanger shaped handbag too (which can be seen in one of the images below from the show).
